Criticism of Orientalists of the Messenger (Peace Be Upon Him), the Text of the Hadith, and its Transmission Chains
Abstract
The Sunnah has been subjected to criticism by deviant sects in the past and by Orientalists in the present, and they have raised many and varied doubts about the Messenger (PBUH), the Hadith and their methods, and doubts about the Hadith Text and its Chains of Transmission. This research intended to discuss the following issues: The concept of Orientalism, the objectives of Orientalism, the Orientalists' method of studying Islam, their criticism of the Messenger (PBUH), and explaining their most prominent doubts and responding to them, the Orientalists' criticism of the Hadith Text and its Chains of Transmission, and the variations in authentication and weakening amongst Hadith scholars.
