Abstract

Establishing a BRICS Health Fund can be a source of reserved financial support for priority health areas identified by the BRICS+ countries. These areas can include preventable diseases like tuberculosis (TB), NTDs, and other priority health issues that have historically been underfunded or overlooked. The Fund should focus on comprehensive funding across health research and programmes covering basic sciences research, implementation science and policy research, and capacity development to support the entire health system. The fund can rapidly achieve significant outcomes and impact in priority areas by collaborating with existing BRICS platforms, such as the BRICS Research and Development Centre and various other BRICS research networks.
