Data for: "Simultaneous Data Display and Environment Sensing"
Abstract
The dataset refers to a set of measurements done with a Micro-LED array in high-speed data display mode superimposed with nanosecond pulsing. The data display function was assessed with a high-speed camera operating at 800 kfps, and the nanosecond pulses were used for time-of-flight ranging with a SPAD camera as detector. The files “histogram_symbols_values.csv” and “eye_diagram.csv” relate to the data display function. They display data taken from a representative micro-LED pixel operating in on-off-keying mode. The first column in “histogram_symbols_values.csv” is the intensity recorded by the high-speed camera (in ADU), and the second column is the normalised frequency of how often that intensity was recorded. The file “eye_diagram.csv” contains a grid, where the columns represent the time axis, each column having a width of 0.078 camera frame durations (1/camera frame rate), and the rows represent the intensity recorded by the camera in ADU, each row having a width of 11 ADU. The entries in the grid are the number of times that the recorded intensity at the time was in the corresponding ADU range. The other files relate to time-of-flight ranging. The files “TCSPC_histogram_30_cm.csv” and “TCSPC_histogram_60_cm.csv” are time-correlated single-photon counting histograms recorded when a piece of paper was positioned at a distance of 30 cm and 60 cm, respectively, from the micro-LED array and SPAD camera. The first column in these two files contains the histogram bin edges, and the second column are the histogram counts. The file “cross-correlation.csv” contains the cross-correlation of these two histograms alongside a Gaussian fit. The fist column is the lag (in units of histogram bins) and the second column the experimentally measured cross-correlation. The third column is the lag for the Gaussian fit, and the fourth column is the Gaussian fit curve. Two scenes were used for range imaging, one with a honeycomb structure, and on with an arch structure. The files “honeycomb_range_map.csv”, and “arch_range_map.csv” contain the experimentally measured range images in the for of an array, where each entry corresponds to one SPAD pixel in the SPAD camera and the value is the measured range in cm. The files “honeycomb_groundtruth.csv”, and “arch_ groundtruth.csv” contain the range ground truth in the same format, and the files “honeycomb_error_map.csv”, and “arch_errormap.csv” contain the measurement error, i.e. the difference between experimental range image and ground truth. The files “arch_row126.csv”, “honeycomb_row50.csv” and “honeycomb_row146.csv” contain cross sections through the range images at rows 126 for the arch scene, and rows 50 and 146 of the honeycomb scene. In these files the first column is the SPAD column and the second column the measured range value, the third column the SPAD column and the forth column the ground-truth range.
