Abstract

Motor-driven axial-flow impellers have a three-dimensional elastic body with non-negligible natural oscillation modes. When the mechanical resonance angular frequency of an elastic body coincides with the rotational angular frequency of a rotor, axial oscillation due to mechanical resonance occurs. Therefore, in this paper, the elastic body model of an axial-flow impeller is identified using force sensor and encoder data. In addition, a reference governor that modifies the angular acceleration command value based on this elastic body model is designed. By using an angular velocity controller in combination with the reference governor, both axial oscillation suppression performance and angular velocity tracking performance can be achieved. Simulation and experimental results validate that the reference governor is effective in suppressing axial oscillation under two different wind speed conditions.
