Automated insulin delivery systems and glucose management in children and adolescents with type 1 diabetes: a systematic review and meta-analysis. JAMA Pediatr. 2025;179(11):1162-1171; doi: 10.1001/jamapediatrics.2025.2740.Investigators from multiple institutions in Canada conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to assess the association between use of automated insulin delivery (AID) systems and measure of glucose control in youths with type 1 diabetes (T1D). AID systems consist of an insulin pump, continuous glucose monitor, and the use of an algorithm to titrate insulin dose based on real-time glucose levels. A standardized process was used to identify randomized controlled trials (RCTs) assessing measures of glucose control in patients 6 months to 18 years old treated with AID or other insulin delivery systems. The primary outcomes of the meta-analysis were mean hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) levels and mean time in range (TIR), defined as percentage of time with glucose levels >3.9 mmol/L and
