Abstract

This dataset compiles curated occurrence records of marine diatoms from the Salish Sea, northeastern Pacific Ocean (1866–2026). The archive contains 6,725 occurrence records derived from historical literature as well as morphological and molecular analysis of samples. Morphological records include vouchered collections (light microscopy slides and SEM stubs) and associated iNaturalist observations. Molecular records include amplicon and Sanger sequences generated in this study, which are available through the European Nucleotide Archive under project accessions PRJEB72893 and PRJEB102646, and analysis accession ERZ29258993. This dataset supports the baseline analysis presented in a data paper currently under review at the Biodiversity Data Journal.
