Abstract

This dataset, collected in 2014 and 2017, documents the diversity and structure of ant communities in urban parks of the city of Montpellier (France). The objective of the study was to better understand the spatial distribution and species composition of ant assemblages in urban green spaces, as well as their variability among parks.Sampling was conducted across a network of public parks representative of different urban contexts within Montpellier. Standardized trapping protocols were implemented to collect ants inhabiting soil and leaf litter habitats. The dataset notably includes ants occurrence data and species composition per park and trapping point, derived from field campaigns conducted in 2014 and 2017.
