Abstract

This dataset contains the digitized treatments in Plazi based on the original journal article Duran, Ahmet, Constantinidis, Theophanis (2025): Genista ermenekensis (Fabaceae), a new species from southern Anatolia, Turkey. Phytotaxa 733 (2): 199-214, DOI: 10.11646/phytotaxa.733.2.4, URL: https://doi.org/10.11646/phytotaxa.733.2.4AbstractA new species, Genista ermenekensis (Fabaceae), is described from southern Anatolia, Turkey. It occurs in open Pinus brutia forests and among shrubs in the Taurus Mountains, within the Ermenek district of Karaman Province. The taxonomic relationships of the new species were evaluated based on morphological data. Genista ermenekensis is morphologically similar to Genista parnassica, but differs mainly in its habitat, and in the morphology of its bracts, bracteoles, calyx, pedicels, corolla, and indumentum. The diagnostic morphological characters distinguishing the new species are discussed. Furthermore, the geographical distribution of G. ermenekensis and the morphologically related G. parnassica is mapped. The study also provides a detailed description of the new species, an identification key, and information on its habitat, ecology, phenology, together with photographs and conservation status.
