Abstract

This dataset contains 318 occurrence records of specimens belonging to the order Aranae, which are part of the Chelicerata Collection of the Zoology Museum of the University Of Concepcion. These specimens were collected primarily in Chile from Arica and Parinacota Region to the Magallanes and Chilean Antartic Region, and to lesser extent in Brazil and Argentina. They are fluid-preserved in alcohol and , each one is associated with a unique catalog number (MZUC-UCCC) and a defined storage location within the museum. This dataset includes type material (Holotypes, Neotypes, Allotypes and Paratypes) of several species deposited in the collection, including Lycosa implacida (Nicolet, 1849), Lycosa magallanica (Karsch, 1880), Lycosa fernandezi (F. O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1899), originally described as Lycosa virgulata; Lycosa indomita (Nicolet, 1849), Lycosa hildearae (Casanueva, 1980), Diapontia anfibia (Zapfe-Mann, 1979);originally described as Lycosa artigasi (Casanueva 1980), Monopia alupuran (Ramírez, 1955) and Monapia pichinahuel (Ramírez, 1955). Specimen data were initially recorded in an internal database of the museum and subsequently standardized following the Darwin Core (DwC) format. During this process, data consistency was reviewed, and when necessary, taxonomic nomenclature was updated by consulting the World Spider Catalog. Geographic information was also validated to ensure that each specimen is associated with verifiable latitude and longitude coordinates. Finally, the dataset was validated using the GBIF data validator prior to publication
