Abstract

This dataset contains data on praying mantis records from the Northwestern and Western Black Sea Region (Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria). It includes 724 records 2430 individuals and oothecas of 5 species during 2024-2025. The region is of great importance for mantises, as it is the western limit of the distribution of Iris polystictica and the northern limit of Empusa fasciata and Ameles. The region was populated by Hierodula transcaucasica in this century, probably due to climate warming.
