Abstract

This dataset contains the digitized treatments in Plazi based on the original journal article Poliakova, Aleksandra N., Cherdantsev, Igor A., Glushakova, Anna M., Wang, Qi-Ming, Karpov, Dmitry S., Polyakov, Nikita B., Solovyev, Andrey I., Zhukhovitsky, Vladimir G., Kachalkin, Aleksey V. (2026): Three new yeast species of Vishniacozyma (Bulleribasidiaceae, Tremellales) from different habitats. MycoKeys 128: 231-248, DOI: 10.3897/mycokeys.128.175380AbstractIn this study, three new basidiomycetous yeast species of the genus Vishniacozyma are proposed for strains isolated from soil, Scolytus scolytus frass, fruits and kombucha tea. A complex analysis of the new isolates together with the described species by genetic, phylogenetic, MALDI-TOF MS profiling and phenotypic characterization revealed significant differences, allowing us to propose three new species: V. pseudofoliicola sp. nov. (holotype KBP Y-7396 T, MycoBank no.: MB 861627), V. kombuchae sp. nov. (holotype KBP Y-7350 T, MycoBank no.: MB 861628) and V. fructicola sp. nov. (holotype KBP Y-6599 T, MycoBank no.: MB 861629). These descriptions contribute to the expansion of knowledge regarding species diversity of the genus Vishniacozyma.
