Decision-support LCA calculator for ventilated façade cladding structures

Abstract The newly developed design support tool aids the different actors involved in an investment process. The web-based software under development can compare ventilated façade systems in terms of life-cycle assessment aspects. The calculations are based on the environmental Product Declarations of the different building materials. The cradle-to-grave analysis analyses and compares the different selected structures at following stages product stage, construction process, use, end-of-life stage, beyond the life cycle of the building. The environmental impact categories (global warming potential, stratospheric ozone depletion, acidification, eutrophication, photo-oxidant formation) are used as quantification.
