Abstract

The dataset originates from a six-year field experiment conducted in a Carpathian semi-natural mountain meadow (Pieniny Mountains) comparing three management variants: conventional mowing with biomass removal (Mowing), mulching (leaving shredded plant material), and compost application (in 2015, 2017, 2019) . The data covers measurements of key ecological and soil indicators for the years 2018 and 2021. The dataset includes information on: total aboveground biomass and the proportion of plant functional groups (grasses, legumes, forbs) , basic soil properties (pH, soil organic carbon SOC, total nitrogen TN, dissolved organic carbon DOC, microbial biomass carbon MBC, dehydrogenase activity DHA, and water resistance index of aggregates WRI, as well as the density and biomass of earthworms and the density of enchytraeids.
