Abstract

This paper deals with the questions left open in the apparition of risen Jesus to two disciples in the way to Emmaus without aiming to definitively answer them when the evangelist himself declined it. First, it tries to explain the likely causes of the different readings of the manuscripts about the distance from Jerusalem to Emmaus, on which depends its location to a great extent. Secondly, it exposes the identities given to the unnamed disciple. Then, it enters the topic of the scriptural passages which the Divine Master may have explained to them. It ends with the recognition of Jesus and the reaction of both disciples.
