Abstract

The aim of this research is to analysis the effects of public investment on human development in the Republic of Congo. To achieve this objective, we used an autoregressive staggered lag model (ARDL), with estimates based on a time series of secondary data covering the period from 1990 to 2023, i.e. thirty-four years of observations. At the end of these analyses, the results show that in the short term, public investment has a positive and significant influence on human development, and in the long term, the effect of public investment on human development in the Republic of Congo is positive, but not significant. These results have enabled us to formulate a number of economic policy implications relating to the effects of public investment on human development in the Republic of Congo.
