Abstract

This article examines the importance of research culture in educational establishments in Norte de Santander and presents it as a basis for guiding public policies on teacher training. The objective is to analyze research culture and how it drives improvements in educational quality by strengthening critical and analytical skills in teachers and students to respond to pedagogical and contextual challenges. A documentary interpretive paradigm is used, involving a theoretical review based on different authors who support the importance of research culture in educational institutions, from a hermeneutic process. Finally, the need to incorporate research as a core element of the curriculum and teaching practices is reaffirmed, promoting the participation of the educational community in research processes. Similarly, national policies aimed at strengthening research in education are reviewed, and particular challenges in the department of Norte de Santander are described, linked to its border location and socioeconomic reality. The article concludes with the importance of school leadership and continuing teacher training to consolidate a solid research culture with academic impact and regional development prospects.
