Abstract

To elucidate the seasonal variation patterns of phytoplankton and their response mechanisms to environmental factors, four sampling sites were established in Daming Lake (Jinan City, Shandong Province) and implemented quarterly surveys on the phytoplankton community and key water environmental factors. A total of 128 phytoplankton species, which belong to eight distinct phyla, were identified in this study. The Phytoplankton community exhibited distinct seasonal succession: Chlorophyta (45.2%) and Cyanophyta (32.7%) dominated in summer, Bacillariophyta (48.9%) and Chlorophyta (31.5%) dominated in autumn, whereas Bacillariophyta (56.3%) served as the absolute dominant in winter, and Bacillariophyta (42.1%) and Chlorophyta (35.8%) co-dominated in spring. One-way analysis of variance revealed that water temperature, transparency, pH, electrical conductivity, dissolved oxygen, total nitrogen, and total phosphorus exhibited highly significant seasonal variations (P
