Abstract

Most patients with asthma have a good response to treatment, but some have a difficult-to-control asthma. Training at “schools” for patients with asthma helps increase patients’ awareness of their condition, prevent risk factors and exacerbations, learn proper inhaler technique, and develop self-management skills. The guidelines contain general information about the disease, data on managing the “school” for patients with asthma, recommended topics and content for classes, and tests to assess patient knowledge. These guidelines are intended for specialists who meet the qualification requirements for health workers and pharmacists with secondary vocational education in General Medicine or Nursing, as well as for primary care physicians participating in “health” schools.
