Abstract

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a leading chronic respiratory disease. This condition is associated with severe complications, including respiratory failure and bronchiectasis, and is accompanied by a significant reduction in patients' quality of life. Education at "schools" for patients with COPD helps increase patient awareness of their disease, prevent risk factors and exacerbations, learn proper inhaler technique, and develop self-management skills. The guidelines contain general information about the disease, data on managing the "school" for patients with COPD, recommended topics and content for classes, and tests to assess patient knowledge. These guidelines are intended for specialists who meet the qualification requirements for health workers and pharmacists with secondary vocational education in General Medicine or Nursing, as well as for primary care physicians participating in "health" schools.
