Abstract

Overweight and obesity are among the most common and significant sociomedical problems, being a key modifiable risk factor for cardiovascular, metabolic, and other noncommunicable diseases. Health "schools" for related patients are specialized educational programs within the primary healthcare system aimed at raising patient awareness, weight management, developing sustainable nutrition skills, increasing physical activity, and self-control. This ultimately contributes to improving quality of life and preventing complications. The guidelines contain information on managing health "schools", including patterns of forming patient groups (including those identified during preventive examinations), the structure of the course, recommended topics and content, and materials for assessing the training effectiveness. These guidelines are intended for primary care physicians, as well as for healthcare workers with secondary vocational education who meet the qualification requirements for General Medicine or Nursing participating in health "schools".
