Abstract

Abstract This article presents results of a research that analyzed the bills in progress in the House of Representatives and Federal Senate, from 2019 to 2022, in order to verify parliamentary intentions about the human use of Cannabis sativa. This was a qualitative, documentary-based research, using a primary source based on consultations of bills, available on the websites of the House of Representatives and the Federal Senate. Seventeen bills were identified, three of which were proposed by the Federal Senate. At least four bills deal with the therapeutic use of Cannabis and 13 bills deal with other uses. No bills were proposed by the Executive Branch. The National Congress does not advance in the regulation of the uses of Cannabis, and none of the proposed projects was transformed into law.
