Genetic engineering and single vector expression of VP1 and VP2 proteins of chicken anemia virus in different lineages of Escherichia coli
Abstract
ABSTRACT The validity of genetic engineering of virus genes as an essential tool for the development of more effective and safe vaccines has been proven recently with SARS CoV-2 mRNA and vectored vaccines. The epidemiological risk of employing the chicken anemia virus (CAV) active virus vaccines may be circumvented using such type of vaccine strategies. CAV genome expresses three proteins, including the single structural capsid protein VP1. VP1 is dependent on VP2 for virion assembly and to adequately expressing its own neutralizing antibodies inducing epitopes. This study describes cloning of the VP1 and VP2 genes in the same plasmid (pET100) and analyzing their expression in different strains of E. coli.
