Method: This scoping review was conducted in 2025 in the Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde, PubMed, Cochrane Library, Web of Science and Scopus databases. Results: A total of 18 studies were selected. The main factors include the following: female gender, advanced age, less than eight years of study, tobacco use disorder, sleep apnea, hospitalization times of at least four days and chronic comorbidities such as renal and cardiovascular diseases, diabetes mellitus and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
