Abstract

The purpose of the research is to conduct a theoretical analysis of energy consumption for the selected routes, considering their topology, using the worldwide harmonized light vehicles test procedure (WLTP) to determine the most energy-efficient route. The article describes the method of choosing an energy-efficient route based on a mathematical model that considers absolute or specific energy consumption. Alternative driving routes from point A to point B on European roads were studied in order to assess energy efficiency. Using a mathematical model, an assessment of the energy costs for overcoming these routes was made, and conclusions were drawn about the influence of the topological profile on the energy consumption of electric vehicles. The impact of key factors on energy consumption was studied. A methodology was proposed calculating the mechanical work of electric vehicle movement, depending on the topological profile for choosing an energy-efficient route. The proposed technique can help drivers select the optimal route to reduce energy consumption and increase mileage on one battery charge.
