DESIGN AND PARAMETRIC OPTIMIZATION OF A PENTAGON-SHAPED MICROSTRIP ANTENNA FOR WI-FI 6E AT 6 GHZ
Abstract
This paper presents the design and parametric analysis of a pentagon-shaped microstrip patch antenna optimized for Wi-Fi 6E applications operating around 6 GHz. The study explores the impact of varying geometrical parameters on key performance metrics, including the reflection coefficient (S11), gain, and radiation patterns. Simulation results demonstrate that precise tuning of slot dimensions significantly enhances performance, achieving an S11 as low as -34.64 dB at 6.03 GHz. The proposed antenna exhibits excellent impedance matching, high radiation efficiency, and strong directional gain, making it a compelling candidate for compact wireless devices. The work contributes to the development of antennas suited for next-generation high-speed communication networks, especially in dense environments where bandwidth and efficiency are critical.
