Diatom and other algal herbarium holdings in Iowa, USA
Abstract
The status of the algal collections in the herbaria at Iowa Board of Regents institutions is documented. Research collections of diatoms at Iowa Lakeside Laboratory (Reimer Herbarium, ILH) and Iowa State University (Ada Hayden Herbarium, ISC) are being converted to a digital format so they are available to users worldwide. The contents of these collections and related information are described. Avenues for access are being developed.
