Abstract

In 2023, Glacier Bay National Park & Preserve initiated a bryophyte inventory that is still ongoing. Species new to the region have been added with each field foray, and a wide diversity of potentially interesting habitats and geographic areas in the park have not yet been surveyed. The primary impetus for this publication is to document 26 species new to the state of Alaska and several other noteworthy collections. Two contrasting habitat types contributed most to the list of new species: old, long ice-free habitats on the outermost coast, and recently deglaciated habitats within the interior of Glacier Bay.
