Abstract

Horizonte: Global Perspectives on Higher Education accompanies the launch of the UCC 2026–2030 Strategic Plan of the Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, positioning it as a roadmap to address the challenges of a rapidly changing educational environment. The Plan results from a rigorous, participatory, and multi-stage process involving governance bodies, technical teams, international experts, and the university community, aimed at strengthening cooperative identity, institutional cohesion, and territorial relevance. The book emphasizes the role of an integrated multi-campus university capable of transforming regional diversity into collective value through shared standards, pedagogical innovation, and a common vision. It highlights lifelong learning, student well-being, quality with flexibility, learning analytics, distributed governance, financial sustainability, and engagement with social and productive actors as key pillars of institutional development. Through contributions from seven international scholars, the volume provides a comparative perspective on contemporary higher education challenges, offering strategic insights for decision-making and continuous improvement. These reflections enhance institutional capacity to anticipate scenarios, design relevant learning pathways, and consolidate a modern, sustainable, and socially responsible university model. Overall, the publication aims to translate strategic vision into visible, measurable, and sustainable transformations, placing the university community at the center of change and reinforcing the University’s social impact across its territories and the country.
