Abstract

Currently, theoretical concepts of gravity separation processes are based mainly on the relationship between the gravity of the solid fraction and the dynamic resistance of the moving medium. This relationship is clearly insufficient to create a detailed and objective model of the process. At the same time, the mass nature of the process, which involves a polyfractional solid phase, particles of different sizes of which interact with each other and with the walls of the apparatus that limit the flow, is not taken into account. It was previously determined that the number of collisions of particles of different sizes in the separation flow does not depend on its speed and is determined only by their concentration in it. The article develops a physical model of the energy interaction of particles of different sizes in the flow with each other and with the snacks of the apparatus. Together with the gravity of the solid phase and its dynamic resistance in the flow, all this creates the opportunity to develop a detailed mathematical model that allows for predictive calculations for the separation process and its optimization.
