Assessment of the quality of fused alumina refractories from foreign manufacturers

The quality of fused alumina refractories of foreign production intended for the lining of the basin of the working part of glass furnaces during the melting of most industrial glasses. It is shown that the most important indicators the quality of such alumina materials, in addition to corrosion resistance, is their minimal tendency to form defects (bubble, schlier, stone) in glass. Data on fused alumina refractories from European and Chinese companies of interest to the Russian glass industry. The prospects of production are shown domestic (α + β)-alumina refractory MK-1 and corundospinellite refractories MK-4 and MK-13. Ill. 1. Ref. 19. Tab. 2.
