DEVELOPING APPROACHES TO SAFETY CULTURE IMPROVEMENT
Abstract
The relevance of this article is driven by the increasing demands for industrial safety and the necessity of fostering a proactive approach to risk management within the oil and gas industry. This work delves into a critical question: why do certain safety measures ultimately fail to deliver lasting results? While they may yield some short-term benefits, they often fail to cultivate a genuine, resilient safety culture. The lack of a systematic approach in this area results in the persistence of high levels of occupational injuries and accidents. Developing a safety culture is a strategic imperative, directly linked to achieving corporate goals in sustainable development and enhancing the level of social responsibility towards employees. As a solution, this article proposes the development and implementation of a specialized tool designed to systematize and optimize the entire process of safety culture management. This tool is a structured system that integrates three key components: diagnosing the current level of safety culture, developing specialized interventions for its improvement, and implementing innovative training programs for oil and gas personnel. In conclusion, the implementation of this comprehensive model has proven effective in fostering a proactive attitude among workers towards industrial safety issues. The development of such a tool is a vector for further research and development, which is important not only from a practical but also a socio-economic point of view to ensure safe operation in the oil and gas industry.
