OVERVIEW OF TECHNOLOGIES FOR LIQUEFIED NATURAL GAS PRODUCTION
Abstract
The article discusses the main technologies for liquefied natural gas (LNG) production. Brief descriptions of each process, indicating the main features, advantages and disadvantages are provided. Liquefied natural gas, mainly consisting of methane (CH4), has become a crucial component of the global energy landscape. Russia is the fourth largest exporter of LNG in the world, but the imposed sanctions have created significant obstacles to the implementation of Russian LNG projects. To maintain a leading position, it is important to develop fully localized technological solutions for industrial LNG production. The article discusses four technologies for liquefied natural gas production, two of which are foreign – ConocoPhilips Optimized Cascade and C3MR. The Arctic Mix and GMR technologies are domestic developments and can be considered analogues of the previously mentioned technologies.
