Abstract

This research investigates how group cohesion impacts social loafing and individual effort.Social loafing, a decrease in individual effort within groups, undermines productivity, while group cohesion, reflecting team unity, may counteract this.Through quantitative analysis of employee survey data, we found a significant negative correlation between cohesion and social loafing, indicating that cohesive groups foster greater individual accountability and motivation. This study highlights the critical role of group cohesion in improving team performance and reducing social loafing in organizational settings.
