Made in AB – Maîtrise des ADvEntIces eN AB
Abstract
The aim of the Made in AB project was to design, evaluate and transfer herbicide-free weed control strategies for field crops without livestock, reconciling agronomic, environmental and socio-economic performance. To achieve this, it relied on a multi-partner, multi-site network of 10 experiments on innovative long-term cropping systems under organic farming (RotAB). Multi-criteria analyses enabled to highlight multi-performing weed management strategies without herbicides in the systems, even in no-till and reduced-till contexts. Work on management levers has also highlighted their value in weed management. One of the results of this work was to show that cover crops can replace intercropping tillage without penalizing the following crop
