Abstract

The project involves setting up a trapping service for the black banana weevil. Weevil mass trapping is an alternative technique to insecticide treatment for controlling Cosmopolites sordidus populations. Mass trapping helps to keep weevil population development in banana plantations at a low level, thus limiting attacks. Traps should be set up in production and fallow plots, in a grid adapted to the level of infestation of the population (by adjusting the number of traps per hectare).
