Enseñar portugués en la España franquista: el Método de lengua portuguesa (1951) de Generoso de Barcenilla
Abstract
This paper studies aspects of the work Método de lengua portuguesa (Madrid, 1951) by the Franciscan Generoso de Barcenilla. The first part briefly describes the socio-educational context in which Barcenilla's work was published. In the second part, the contents of the Método are analysed in terms of both macrostructure and microstructure, and the didactic characteristics of the Capuchin Father's work are studied, in contrast with the manuals for the teaching of Portuguese for the Spanish-speaking public. The textual relationship between the Método and the Gramática espanhola para portugueses (Porto, 1947) by Julio Martínez Almoyna, principal at the Colegio Oficial de Español of Porto, during the years in which Barcenilla taught Spanish in this institution, is also studied.
