Hibridismo ficcional e informativo: estrategias retóricas a partir de textos periodísticos en el libro-álbum / Fictional and informative hybridism based on journalistic texts in picturebooks
Abstract
This study examines the hybridization capacity of picturebooks by integrating fictional and informational discourses to promote visual literacy and critical thinking in school contexts. The methodology employed in this research involves literary, artistic, and semiotic content analysis of two picturebooks that use journalistic texts as a starting point to expand information through various fictional strategies. The results of the analysis of the selected corpus—Notiziario by Armin Greder and Noticias al margen by María José Ferrada—highlight the particularities of meaning expansion using visual, poetic, and symbolic resources to foster critical reading. Greder's work employs design to contrast economic inequalities, while Ferrada humanizes social events through her poems interwoven with illustrations. In both cases, the works encourage critical reflection on social justice, environmental issues, and economic disparities. Finally, the discussion and conclusions of the study reveal the difficulty of drawing clear boundaries between information and fiction in these works, which experiment with format and offer pedagogical potential that broadens the possibilities of literature didactics.
