Abstract
This article examines Mary Parker Follett’s interdisciplinary work within the pragmatist tradition, highlighting her contributions to conflict resolution, reducing group polarization, and advancing social progress. In today’s polarized and confrontational world, Follett’s concept of “integration of interests” provides a pragmatist eirenic approach to fostering peaceful coexistence. Her advocacy for applying psychological insights to social and legal fields aims to develop effective strategies for resolving social conflicts that do not suppress individual aspirations and instead foster the creative power of diverse experiences. Follett’s background in history, political science, and social activism shapes her innovative ideas on integrating individual interests with collective well-being. The article explores her efforts to establish a methodological foundation for social sciences based on psychology and proposes to deepen the understanding of her work within the philosophy of law.
