Magnesium for Pain Management in Dental Practice: A Scoping Review of Current Evidence and Mapping Clinical Applications
Abstract
This scoping review aims to map the existing literature regarding the clinical application of magnesium (Mg) as a primary or adjuvant analgesic in dental procedures. While systematic reviews exist regarding efficacy, there is significant heterogeneity in administration routes (oral, IV, local infiltration), salt forms, and dosing regimens. This review will chart these variables to identify standard protocols and gaps in current research, specifically focusing on pain and patient-reported outcomes.
