Sleep It or Lose It: Exploring the Relationship Between Sleep Patterns and Memory Retention in University Students
Abstract
This research project investigated the relationship between sleep duration, sleep consistency, and memory retention in university students. Using a survey-based design (n = 52), participants reported sleep habits and completed a short-term memory recall task. Statistical analyses including ANOVA, correlation, and multiple linear regression showed no significant association between sleep duration or consistency and memory retention, suggesting that additional cognitive and behavioral factors play a larger role in memory performance.
