The relationship between clothing size availability and body image: A systematic review protocol
Abstract
This registration covers the first phase of a broader research project. The objective of this systematic review is to identify and synthesize available scientific evidence regarding the relationship between clothing size availability (including sizing systems and garment fit) and body image dimensions (such as dissatisfaction, appreciation, and acceptance) in adult populations. The search strategy is automated using an R script that queries PubMed, Scopus, Semantic Scholar, and Web of Science APIs, executing 264 combinations of keywords in both English and Spanish. The study follows PRISMA guidelines, utilizing the Rayyan platform for blinded screening and duplicate removal. The expected outcome is a comprehensive narrative synthesis that maps the psychological impact of sizing constraints.
