Intention to use antibiotics prudently under the Veil of Ignorance
Abstract
The main question is how different informational conditions regarding the consequences of antibiotic overuse (self-interest, future-generation impact, veil of ignorance) influence individuals' intentions concerning prudent antibiotic intake in the context of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR). H1: Participants in the veil of ignorance (VOI) condition will demonstrate a greater intention towards prudent antibiotic intake compared to participants in the self-interest or future-generation conditions. H2: Participants in the veil of ignorance (VOI) condition will demonstrate greater intentions to prudent antibiotic intake compared to other conditions, even when controlling for individual differences in risk aversion. H3: Participants with higher scores on the Oxford Utilitarianism Scale will demonstrate greater intention towards prudent antibiotic intake, across all conditions.
