Experiences of women with disabilities in the birth and postpartum process: a scoping review
Abstract
This study aims to investigate how women with disabilities experience the childbirth and postpartum process. This is a scoping review based on the JBI manual. The research question was defined using the PCC strategy: Population (women with disabilities), Concept (experiences), and Context (childbirth and postpartum). Studies addressing the experiences faced by these women will be included, without restriction of language or year, excluding duplicate, incomplete, or unavailable full-text articles. The search will be conducted in the MEDLINE, Embase, Web of Science, Scopus, and CINAHL databases, as well as grey literature in Google Scholar and ProQuest. The selection will be made by two independent reviewers, using Rayyan software, and represented in a PRISMA-ScR flowchart. The extracted data will be organized in a table with title, author, year, objective, participants, and results of the experiences, and presented clearly in tables and images, with relevant and current literature discussed.
