A pilot and feasibility trial of the impact of one week of 'vape-free windows' on vaping outcomes
Abstract
The primary objectives of this pilot and feasibility study are to inform the design of 1) the VapeLess intervention and 2) a definitive randomised control trial (RCT) to assess the effectiveness of the VapeLess intervention on reducing vaping behaviour. Between subjects randomised controlled trial with participants randomised to either control or VapeLess intervention (vape-free windows) for seven days. All participants will use the app Mesmerise (EMA software), which has been redeveloped specifically for the purpose of this study, to complete daily study questionnaires. For those in the intervention condition, the Mesmerise software will also alert participants to the start and end of vape-free windows (3 times per day). Participants will be invited to participate in qualitative interviews about the study once they have completed it.
