Abstract

While many studies have examined the role of manual therapy directed to the thoracic spine in treating disorders of the neck and upper extremities, few have been published that examine the role of manual therapy in treating thoracic symptoms themselves. This review will synthesize the available evidence related to the role of manual therapy, including joint mobilization/manipulation and soft-tissue treatments, in the treatment of the thoracic spine itself.
