Abstract

This study aimed to gather current evidence on various neural manifestations of different swallowing treatments at different timepoints, including during and after treatment. With the growing trend in using different types of stimulation in addition to behavioural training, it was also investigated if additional stimulation facilitated better physiological and neurological outcomes. To further understand the significance of neurological changes to treatment outcomes, it was also investigated if physiological improvements in treatment correlate with changes in neurological investigations.
