Effects of Message Framing on Willingness to Engage in Advance Care Planning
Abstract
Advance Care Planning (ACP) involves thinking about and sharing one’s preferences for medical care in case future illness or injury makes communication difficult. Although many people acknowledge the importance of ACP, willingness to engage in ACP with family members often remains low. This study examines whether brief, framed messages about ACP can increase individuals’ willingness to engage in ACP.
