Meta-analysis of Diagnostic Test Accuracy of Pediatric Sleep Questionnaire and the OSA-18 Questionnaire in the Screening of Pediatric Obstructive Sleep Apnea
Abstract
While the gold standard for the diagnosis of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) in children is an attended polysomnogram (PSG), it is a resource intensive procedure, costly and with limited availability in many settings. Consequently, several subjective tools have been developed to assist pediatricians in screening children who would benefit from a PSG. One of the most widely used is the Pediatric Sleep Questionnaire (PSQ). OSA-18 is another commonly used questionnaire which is a disease-specific quality-of-life questionnaire. In this meta-analysis we aim to meta-analyze the data on diagnostic accuracy of PSQ and OSA-18 in the screening for OSA.
