Delegation Preferences: Public Attitudes in Government Service Providers
Abstract
What does the public think about the outsourcing of government work to the private sector? Do Americans anticipate higher costs and lower quality when the state contracts with private firms? Holding constant these outcomes, are there residual preferences for state provision of social services? This project answers these questions through a simple survey experiment.
