Permutation map self-referential control generator
Abstract
This paper proposes a compact pseudorandom number generator, mint, based on a bit permutation map with self-referential control. The generator uses only a minimal internal state and basic integer operations, while introducing nonlinear and partially irreversible mixing to suppress structural regularities common in linear PRNGs. Comparative evaluation against representative LCG, xorshift, LFSR, and RC4-based generators shows that mint occupies an intermediate position between linear generators and array-based designs in terms of statistical behavior, performance, and implementation simplicity.
